Cooperation Memorandum Signed Between the Economy Assembly of the Uzbekistan and Turkish Association UKSAD

In April 2025, a major step in international cooperation was taken in Tashkent as Muxtor Umarov, Chairmanof the Economy Assembly of the Uzbekistan , and Tolga Turan, representative of the Turkish Value-Added Production Association (UKSAD), signed a strategic cooperation memorandum focused on the development of the Central Asia Smart City project.

The memorandum outlines a shared commitment to involve Turkish manufacturers, construction firms, engineering and R&D organizations, investors, and business associations in the realization of the ambitious Smart City project, to be developed on a 6400-hectare site.

The document establishes a framework for mutual support in technology transfer, innovation, investment facilitation, and legal and logistical backing to enable the success of the project. It is a key initiative to strengthen industrial ties and promote sustainable development between Uzbekistan and Turkey.

Additionally, both parties committed to organizing scientific and technological conferences, fostering direct partnerships, and enabling Turkish companies to expand operations in Uzbekistan — further enhancing regional integration and innovation.
